INTRODUCTION.

Welcome! This is an independent, private, mutuals-only and selective roleplay blog for Chiro from Disney/Jetix's 2004 series Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Obviously I am in no way affiliated with Disney, Ciro Nieli or any of his associates. I am here to write for fun and write a muse from a show that has been deep in my heart since childhood.I'm Neon! You may recognize me from the url rathalascendant which is my other muse. I am twenty-eight as of publishing this carrd. My pronouns are she/they and I am a proud aroace. I am also autistic. I am employed as an animal care technician at a local pet store, and my other hobbies outside of roleplaying and writing include gaming and art! I also love the ocean, and am a parrot parent to a happy little conure.I have been roleplaying since 2006 and spent eleven of my eighteen-year experience writing here on tumblr! Please do not be afraid to ask or reach out to me if you have questions and concerns. I'm generally laidback, though if I'm slow to respond, it should be noted that I am easily distracted. I may see a message, and then forget to respond to it until way later. If you are curious about my muse and the series he is from, all episodes of Monkey Team are accessible on Youtube for free, or otherwise can be watched on Disney Plus!

With that out of the way, let's begin!

PROTOCOL.

GENERAL.

  • This blog is semi-active. Chiro is not my main muse, and my activity is sporadic. I am more commonly at the url rathalascendant, which is a different muse all together.

  • I am private, selective and mutuals only. This means I will only interact with people whom I follow and whom follow me back, and vice versa. I usually give an active blog about forty-eight hours before I choose to unfollow if they do not follow me back; I like to keep my dash clean and mutual-exclusive!

  • Please respect this guideline. Do not take it personally if I choose not to follow youโ€”but please don't pressure me to interact if we are not mutuals. It causes unnecessary anxiety for me, and I am simply here to vibe.

  • Non-mutuals are permitted to send headcanon-related questions. Asks from non-mutuals are permitted so long as they are not turned into a roleplay. Likewise, I am fine with non-mutuals and personals reblogging graphics and other stuff not directly related to my blog. Please refrain from reblogging my threads if you are not involved, as well as status and out of character posts!

  • Basic Roleplay Etiquette is expected. Obviously no major godmodding or metagaming without my consent. I allow minor godmodding and sometimes practice it myself for the sake of advancing a post, but otherwise I make a point to practice good roleplay etiquette and I expect my partners do the same.

  • Please do not consistently badger me for replies. I allow a friendly reminder every two weeks. Otherwise, please be patient with me! My responses can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks depending on my muse for a specific thread.

UN/FOLLOWING.

  • I'm incredibly choosy with whom I follow! I'm not a follow-for-follow blog and if I choose to follow first, that means that yes, I would like to interact with you.

  • I will generally not follow if: You do not regularly cut your posts, do not have essential information (Your pen-name, rules page, and muse information + verses) and over-format your posts to an unreadable degree. While I was a lot more lax about my followers in the past, these days I typically only follow first if I genuinely can see us interacting and have interest in doing so.

  • Obviously, the practice of some less than savory behaviors may also lead to me to unfollowing a mutual. For me an absolute no-no is vagueblogging. If you have issues with a particular person, either communicate that issue with them properly or take it to a private space.

  • Other reasons I may not follow: Simply not knowing or being comfortable writing with the content material of your blog, little to no writing examples of your blog (obviously if I know you well, and you are starting up a new blog after being a long time partner of mine, I am keen to make exceptions.)

  • If for whatever reason you choose to unfollow me, Please softblock me! This spares me from having to comb through my following list to break mutuals completely, as well as saves both partners from the awkwardness of me accidentally sending in a prompt to a non-mutual. Usually I do not mind at all when a partner breaks mutuals with me, however if we are particularly close and have known / interacted for some time, I may feel prompted to reach out.

  • Repeated breaching of my guidelines will result in a softblock. This namely goes for non-mutuals attempting to interact or like my starter calls. I have boundaries that I like to keep and I have a right to maintain them. Please respect if I am not interested in interacting with you. Repeated attempts to interact with me if we are not mutuals will result in a softblock and eventually a hardblock of it continues.

  • Triggers of mine include: Graphic depictions of Hell (Think of Dante's Inferno and Hieronymus Bosch,) and Real-life Apocalypse Predictions. I have some mild religious trauma. I ask that any particularly graphic things in general be tagged properly, but the two listed above are particularly uncomfortable for me!

  • Fandoms / RPCs I am generally wary of: Pokemon, Disney, The Owl House. I will not necessarily completely avoid interacting with these fandoms, but rather I typically am not one to follow first due to previous bad experiences or negative associations. If you write a muse from one of these fandoms, and I follow first, it's likely because I know you and am comfortable with you. Likewise, if I follow back after a follow first, then you're gucci. <3

  • Fandoms / RPCs I refuse to interact with: Danganrompa, Fire Emblem. These are fandoms that I have either had bad experiences with or have witnessed particularly bad experiences with and have made me lose interest in the subject matter altogether. If you are a multimuse that features muses from these fandoms, I may not follow first. I do not mind following multimuses with muses from these fandoms, but I typically will not interact with them.

CONTENT.

  • Content on this blog is rated PG-13. There might be exploration of darker topics such as trauma, violence, etc. Triggering subjects will be properly tagged, and do not be afraid to reach out to me if you want a certain subject tagged in some way.

  • This blog is smut-free. My muse is a minor, and regardless smut has never been my cup of tea. Likewise I'm generally apprehensive towards romanceโ€”I typically will only write ships with partners whom I share a good camaraderie with and whom I trust. Obviously, any romantic content will be restricted to puppy love. Otherwise, all relationships my muse has will be platonic.

  • This blog is not spoiler free! Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Is a twenty year-old show and all of its episodes are currently free to access on youtube. If you are interested in watching the show blind, then I recommend doing that first. Otherwise, anticipate that there will be spoilery content on this blog!

  • Other fandoms (but not all!) that I am familiar with include: Professor Layton, Nintendo, Digimon, Trigun, Dreamworks, Studio Ghibli, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network.

  • Please don't be afraid to reach out if you have a concern! Generally speaking I do not bite, and I value communication. I understand and respect others' decisions to cut ties with me if they so choose, but if we are particularly close, then I expect issues to be communicated with me before ultimately cutting ties.

  • Lastly, have fun! At the end of the day, I am simply here to vibe and enjoy writing my muse with you all as a fun little side hobby. Feel free to reach out to me in IMs if you have any questions. See you on the dashboard!

The son of acclaimed Shuggazoomian scientists, Chiro's life was turned upside-down when his parents inexplicably vanished, eventually leaving him in the care of an estranged uncle. Spending the rest of his childhood as a lonely latchkey kid, Chiro dreamed of following in the footsteps of his role models, and become a superhero. What he did not anticipate was that this childish fantasy would become his reality, when, at the age of thirteen, he stumbled upon an abandoned Super Robot and activated it while exploring inside. As a result, Chiro was granted powers beyond his imagination, and was dubbed the new leader of a team of cybernetic monkeys who were sworn to protect his home planet. Now, Chiro must learn and grow as the First-in-Command of the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce, and fulfill a destiny that he never realized he had.

personality.

Stuck between the teetering balance of being a boy and a man, Chiro is coupled with the tendencies one might often see in a young teenager. Heโ€™s sassy and hotheaded, the type whoโ€™s prone to let his ego get the best of him only to see it bite him back later on. He enjoys play and relaxation, and though scarcely nowadays, he might sometimes relent to his own selfishness. This is not to say that heโ€™s your typical bratty teenager, far from the truth. Chiro is a kid with a good head on his shoulders, is bright, witty and resourceful and calm under pressure. He has a strong sense of justice and a clear understanding of right and wrong. His ability as a leader has only continued to grow under the influence of his team and over the passage of time such qualities have only strengthened. Chiro is loyal, kind-hearted and friendly to his team and his people, and maintains a generally pleasant disposition in times of respite. He serves as the bridge between the citizens of Shuggazoom and the monkeys, and hence is one of the most outgoing members of the team, next to the mechanical wizard Otto.In battle, Chiro is a quick thinker, dedicated in his resolve and ruthless toward his enemies. He displays unrivaled trust and loyalty in his teammates and cares for each member of the Hyperforce deeply. Despite his youth, he has come to understand their importance as a unit and how efficiently they work together for the good of Shuggazoom. But, as stated earlier, Chiro is not without his flaws. His role as a leader and a superhero gifted with special abilities can sometimes get to his head, and towards those who have established a negative impression toward him and his team, he is rigid and tends to conclude the worst. His hotheadedness and arrogant side has gotten him and sometimes his teammates in trouble.Despite it all, Chiro is slowly growing into the powerful leader he is meant to be and has shown amazing qualities for a boy his age. He continues to work with his teammates -- his family, toward a future meant only for good.

skills & abilities.

THE POWER PRIMATE

THE SOURCE OF CHIRO'S POWERS. This mystical energy fused with Chiro's spirit when he accidentally activated the Super Robot, and therefore, the five sleeping monkeys within it. This strange force has granted Chiro his powers, which are explained in detail below:

  • ELECTROKINESIS. The main attacks under Chiro's belt comes in the form of electricity, fuelled by the Power Primate. While he cannot redirect or resist lightning, he himself is able to produce it and use it as a weapon against his foes.

  • TELEPATHY. Through the Power Primate, Chiro has been able to use telepathy to communicate with other members of his team on rare occasions. Its strength often depends upon how deeply the other members of his team are connected to the Power Primate itself. For instance, Chiro can telepathically communicate with his mentor, Antauri, who is very spiritually connected to the Power Primate. It is through their connection that Chiro and Antauri are able to sense each other's presences.

  • ENHANCED ENDURANCE / SPEED / STAMINA. Due to his newfound powers, Chiro is able to withstand a lot more pressure, weight, and pain than a normal human. He is capable of surviving several hits and long falls without being so much as dazed. It takes a lot for this kid to go down.

MOVESET.

  • THUNDER PUNCH. A physical attack. Chiro's hand lights up with electric energy, fuelled by the Power Primate, and strikes with a fist.

  • LIGHTNING KICK. A physical attack. Chiro's foot lights up with electric energy, fuelled by the Power Primate, and swings his leg forwards in a kick.

  • MONKEY FU. An energy attack. From a distance, Chiro brings his palms together, and the Power Primate's energy manifests in a dark sphere before he throws his hands forwards and blasts the energy from his palms, kamehameha style.

  • CHIRO SPEARO. An energy attack. A bolt of electric energy, formed by the Power Primate, manifests in Chiro's hand, and he tosses it like a spear or javelin.

  • MONKEY MIND SCREAM Season 2 Finale Onward. An advanced energy attack, one that Chiro does not learn until at least six months into his leadership. Here, Chiro's eyes glow before he unleashes a blast of the Power Primate's energy from his mouth, in the form of rings. The high-pitched sound that follows can do major damage and even knock those in its path unconscious.

  • REGENERATION. Being fused with the Power Primate, Chiro's body will recover from injuries and ailments quicker than the normal human, which also allows him to take fewer breaks between patrols and be able to join back into the fight quickly.

  • THE INNER PRIMATE. Chiro's most powerful attack in his moveset is the Inner Primate, a manifestation of the Power Primate which projects around his body like a force field. This force field appears in the shape of a massive green ape, which is capable of lifting heavy objects while protecting Chiro from possibly fatal blows. It should be known that maintaining this form costs a lot of energy, and being so young, Chiro has not learned how to control it without exhausting himself entirely.

  • COMMUNICATION. Prior to the completion of the Monkey Translator, Chiro was the only human who was capable of understanding his team. While the monkeys can understand human speech, they themselves cannot reciprocate human speech without the use of a translator. Chiro is an exception to this rule, as his connection with the Power Primate allows him to understand the monkeys as though they are speaking his language, thereby allowing him to communicate with them normally.

  • SENSITIVITY. Lastly, it should be noted that Chiro is sensitive to changes in the Power Primate and can easily sense disturbances within it. Some of these disturbances can come in the form of incredible pain for him.

SKILLSET.

  • MARTIAL ARTS. Going hand-in-hand with his powers is his martial arts skills. After joining the team, Chiro was trained in the ways of monkey combat in order to defend himself and others. He's gotten pretty good at it, and though he can still be reckless at times, he knows how to hold his own.

  • PILOTING / MOTOR SKILLS. Alongside martial arts training, Chiro also had to learn how to pilot the Torso Tank of the team's home base, a giant Super Robot. This massive machine is able to disassemble itself into smaller vehicles. Chiro has shown efficiency in handling something as massive as the tank as well as the Super Robot's other weaponry while in machinder mode. He is also able to drive a motorcycle, which he uses for speedy patrols or emergencies across the city.

  • ROBOTICS. Chiro has a keen understanding of robotics and has shown some potential in tinkering with wiring and building small machines. Unfortunately, this talent, which he initially fostered before discovering the team, has been set aside for his duties as leader of the hyperforce.

background.

He was born the only son of two successful researchers on the planet of Shuggazoom. Bright and resourceful from a young age, Chiro spent his early childhood blissfully in the care of his parents, who did their very best to care for him. His beginnings were a bit spoiledโ€”lavished with plenty of toys and nice clothing earned from the success of his parents' careers. However, his time with his family would ultimately be a brief one. When the boy was only eight years-old, his parents were called forth to investigate beyond the reaches of Shuggazoom Cityโ€”in the desolate Zone of Wasted Years. Along with an expedition team, the two set off for their urgent mission. They would never return.Of course, Chiro's livelihood was thrown into question the moment that the Expedition Team was declared missing. Authorities scrambled to find wills of the parents, or otherwise living relatives under whom their son could be cared for. Eventually, the responsibility fell on the shoulders of an estranged maternal uncle, whom Chiro's mother had cut ties with before he was even born.Reluctantly, Chiro's uncle took him in. The man did his best to care for his nephew, but he was still ultimately flawed; he was a drunkard, full of regret over the estrangement with his missing sister. He could also barely keep a job, and the frequent change of employment caused him to bounce around the city, forcing Chiro to fend for himself most hours of the day.As for Chiro, the beloved child prodigy turned latchkey kid questioned what had become of his parents. With his uncle barely able to support him and often emotionally distant, he turned to fictional role models, such as the Sun Riders, and dreamed of the day he could be in control of his future. In losing his parents, he had become terrified of losing anyone else. If only he were stronger. If only he could protect the ones he loved...Sadly, life threw another curve ball at him shortly after his tenth birthday. His uncle, in a drunken stupor, fell off of the city bridge and drowned within the depths of the surrounding sea. With no known living relatives left, Chiro was brought into an orphanage, where he'd spend the next three years of his life.In his late pre-teen years, Chiro endured bullying from schoolmates for his keen intelligence and natural skill with robotics. Yet, the youth remained cautiously optimistic of his future, even as he longed for a simpler time to return. Life had never been the same since that fateful day his parents left and never came home. Little did he realize, it was about to get even stranger. He was sworn into his destiny the day he went exploring into the city outskirts, where Chiro discovered an abandoned Super Robot. Driven by his curiosity, the thirteen year-old went inside and eventually activated it by mistake. The moment he triggered the on switch, his life changed forever. A surge of energy coursed through his body, and a mystical power, the Power Primate, fused with him and granted him unique powers.Alongside that, Chiro had unwittingly awoken five cybernetic monkeys that had been dormant within the Super Robot for decades. Known as the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce, this strange gaggle of primates ultimately dubbed Chiro their new leader. They would train him in the ways of combat, piloting, and mastery over his newfound powers. Chiro's dream had become his reality. And it was both the most amazing and the scariest thing ever, for as soon as the excitement of becoming superhuman had died away, Chiro learned of the very real threats that began to surface with the re-emerging of the Hyperforce. As he came to terms with his fate, he realized that they were the only defense against dark universal evils...and he was the one who had to lead them into battle.Luckily for him, Chiro quickly gained the support and friendship of his new teammates. Over time, they not only became his mentors, but sibling and parent figures that he never thought he'd have again. As they learned to work as a unit, they in turn became a family. And in the end, that was the one thing he wanted most.

verses.

MAIN VERSES.

Verses may be added over time as I grow comfortable with different timelines. As of right now, I am only interested in writing Chiro during his time as leader of the Hyperforce. I am however, extremely flexible with placement of a thread in the show's timeline. Usually, I set my threads anywhere between seasons one to three.

  • LEADER OF THE HYPERFORCE. Set anywhere between seasons 1-2. Chiro is growing into his role as leader and protector of his homeplanet more and more each day, but he still has a lot to learn about his powers and what destiny has in store for him.

  • RACE AGAINST THE DARK ONE WORM. Takes place anywhere within season 3. Chiro and his team must travel across space in hot pursuit of the Dark One Worm, a malevolent entity deadset on wiping out life from entire solar systems. On the way they encounter a variety of new worlds and people to encounter.

  • A LINGERING THREAT. Set in season 4. The Hyperforce has succeeded in defeating the Dark One Worm, and have since returned to Shuggazoom to maintain peace. Yet, dark forces work in the background to revive the ultimate threat, and the team may soon realize that this war is not yet over.

  • EARLY DAYS. Set pre-season 1. Chiro has just been sworn in as the new leader of the Hyperforce and is forced to come to grips with his new powers and responsibilities.
